PEPS  began  with  12 members in January 1999 who believed that neighbors should  work  together  to preserve the natural beauty of  their  Sierra  Nevada community.   Today,  the membership has grown to over  200  residents  and property owners  in  the Plumas-Eureka Estates, Eureka Springs, and The Village at Plumas Pines communities.

In 2000, PEPS was honored as a recipient of the Keep California Beautiful Outstanding Beautification and Forestry Award for a community group in a rural area.   PEPS was singled out for its outstanding efforts in beautifying the community through a number of projects.  Today, these projects have grown to include the creation of three beautiful community gardens, refurbishing bus stops, and providing pet waste bag dispensers throughout the community.
